Home for a Rest

Home for a Rest. Another old shot from my trip to Brazil. These boats were out all morning fishing for crabs, and just off screen to the right was the marketplace of these fisherman selling their morning rewards. This was a new editing technique for me as well. I took one of Trey Ratcliff's filters and tried that out, it's almost as he defined it. I modified a few things just a little.

Washing the City Away. I'm not sure how many photos I took while swimming in Rio, most of them didn't turn out, since I was mostly trying to just breath and stay closer to shore ( there was a slight undertow). This one is blurry as they come, but I really like how it turned out all the same. The wave crashing above the buildings, the bubble patterns on the wave. Had it been clear, it would have for sure been a magazine cover! View the larger version on Flickr

Fly By Seattle

Fly By Seattle. Cursing myself for only having my iPhone when I took Alaska Air (Horizon Air) back to Victoria from Seattle the other day... it was a beautiful day and we buzzed the city. It's no float plane buzz, but it was a different perspective for sure. Loved this shot, just wish I had a better camera with me. View the larger version on Flickr

A Fly by Alki. I took off in a Kenmore Air Floatplane today and we buzzed the city and I got this great view of Alki beach! it's been forever since I've had time to go and hang out on that beach, one of my favorite places to hang out in Seattle. I shot this quick in easy-panorama mode on my Nikon CoolPix! View the larger version on Flickr

Seattle by Float Plane. Flying over Seattle is something I do quite frequently, but usually we take off away from Seattle, it's always nice to brush the outskirts of the city and get views like this. Crabbing

Crabbing. Out in Sidney, BC, there is a long fishing pier, and this guy happened to be all alone today crabbing. What's interesting is this guy also taught me how to tell the difference between a male and female crab. Can you do that? View the larger version on Flickr

On the Board Walk

On the Board Walk. Put my camera right down on the Sydney Pier on Vancouver Island to take this one. I did a previous shot like this with my phone for my Project365, edited with Instagram and wanted to do it again with my Canon5DMII. I think it turned out just as good, if not a little better. Half Fogged In

Half Fogged In. A few weeks ago when I was walking in the Inner Harbour of Victoria, BC, the fog was just pouring off the Juan De Fuca Straight into the Inner Harbour. Amazingly, there was a slight breeze from the north east, so it was keeping the fog from fully filling the harbour. I'd imagine all flights to Seattle are cancelled, and all flights to Victoria (by float plane of course) would be fine. Just another day in Paradise! View the larger version on Flickr
