Suspension under Sky

Suspension under Sky

Visiting Tolt Hill Park in Carnation later last year to give my friend some tips on HDR photography, I placed my camera on the solid part of the suspension bridge (to prevent sway) and snapped this wonderful HDR.  The bridge was what caught my eye, but the sky is what makes me like this photo. #Project365 - A Whole Year of Photos

Hi Folks,  a brief interlude from the photos here to let you know that I’ve decided (albeit a little late) to do a #Project365.  I started on 1/19/2012, and I plan on continuing until 1/19/2013.  My goals are to:

  • Force myself to think about composition daily
  • Capture things that I find interesting for an entire year
  • Work on my creativity and out of the box thinking with images in hopes to improve my actual photography that you see on this site

I am also going to put some limits on myself.  I plan on using Instagram only, this means that my images, while posted to my @SeanDaniel twitter feed, will also be posted

That’s it.  We’ll find out in 362 days if I’m successful.  Wish me luck.

Victoria in Snow

Victoria in Snow

As the snow starts to melt from Victoria I think back to how often we actually get snow.  Hardly at all.  I can only remember 2006 (when this photo was taken) and 2008 when I first officially moved here.  This is a shot I took in 2006 walking around the Inner harbour in the snow. Foggy San Fran

Foggy San Fran

Dragging this one up from the graveyard (shot in a San Fran visit in 2002).  This was a "I'm out for breakfast, that looks like a cool shot" snap, but to this day, I still really like how it turned out.  The Mystery of the building disappearing into the fog is what makes it for me. Miniature War

Miniature War

This is a fun one, also resurected from my collection.  Miniature World in Victoria, BC has a bunch of wonderful scenes from war, all shrunk down about as small as they go.  These men stand about 1cm tall, of course with the camera where I put it, you might never know.  ;o) View the larger version on Flickr.

The Hike to Wallace

The Hike to Wallace

Another old shot, this time from 2003, but it's been one of my favorites.  On a Hike up to see the Wallace Falls between Stevens Pass and Monroe in Washington State it's quite a nice gem of a walk, the first part of the hike is super easy and you see the small falls, if you continue on, you get to see some larger falls. Spring Blossoms

Spring Blossoms

Another old shot, but one of my favorites (as you can see by it being the backdrop of this blog).  I was out capturing trains in the Snoqualmie train museum in the spring and this explosion of purple just burst out of the ground. View larger version on Flickr.
