Until Dusk. Had a vacation on Quadra Island at a cottage on a lake. My dog (pictured) didn't get out of the water until after the sun went down. Usually the sky was bare, but on this particular night it looked like it was exploded..

Dyea Point. Another flashback from my trip to Alaska, this time in Skagway, AK. Such a beautiful city. At the end of the stay someone recommended a small hike out to Dyea Point, boy was it worth it. Do you agree?.

To the Top of Sugar Loaf. Sugar Loaf Mountain was more impressive than Chris the Redeemer in my opinion. And what made it cool was that it's a two stop journey to the top. The first, smaller mountain you get up to actually has amazing views as well, and from there things don't look super small, like you're on an airplane. Instead if just feels like you're really high. We went in the morning, where they say to go later on for the sunset, but that didn't work into our schedule. There was also no line in the morning, which was nice. This is a few from the first mountain, overlooking Sugar Loaf, the cable cars, and off to the left, the smaller local airport (not the international one which is further left and farther away than you can actually see). The other cool thing is that planes destined for this airport actually buzz this mountain on their approach. Very fun to watch. View the larger version on Flickr

Ipanema Surfers

Ipanema Surfers. Apparently you can surf here 24/7, the turn on a set of lights and you can surf all you want! For me, I was here during the day, and the views were just awesome. The Light Struggles to Hold On. Rio might possibly be one of the most beautiful places in the world. I only wish I had my nice SLR camera with me, but I was too mobile and too focused on the World Cup to lug it around with me. So I had my CoolPix point and shoot, it didn't do a half bad job. One night we were hanging on the beach, it had been cloudy most of the day, and the sun just struggled one last time to break the clouds hold, and then ultimately failed... but it resulted in this rather ominous and epic shot. Good bye Victoria!. Another float plane shot today, I snapped this earlier in the week when I flew out of Victoria on a glorious sunny day! Looking at this reminded me heavily of the 10K I ran down that road just the day before... oh, no, wait, my back and sore muscles as I sat in a cramped float plane reminded me of that, but hey, I ran that road! Preparing to Decend into the Cloud. I was out snowboarding this past weekend, and I had my GoPro with me. The neat thing was that we started at the bottom of the hill and could barely see 100 feet, it was sooo foggy. about half the way up it cleared up completely, and it was pretty breathtaking above the clouds! Space Needle before the Storm. Growing up near Toronto, ON, and the CN Tower, the Seattle Space Needle isn't all that impressive from a size stand point, but what is impressive is how Seattlites have made it part of their culture. the SeaHawks 12th man flag flies from it all the time, and whenever there is fireworks, the Space Needle looks like it's about to explode as the fireworks shoot out of it sideways. This shot was taken at the end of a nice day as the clouds rolled in to bring that beloved Seattle rain. :) View the larger version on Flickr

On the Board Walk. Put my camera right down on the Sydney Pier on Vancouver Island to take this one. I did a previous shot like this with my phone for my Project365, edited with Instagram and wanted to do it again with my Canon5DMII. I think it turned out just as good, if not a little better.
