Until Dusk. Had a vacation on Quadra Island at a cottage on a lake. My dog (pictured) didn't get out of the water until after the sun went down. Usually the sky was bare, but on this particular night it looked like it was exploded..

Social Distancing Arbutus. Been spending a lot of time in the woods these days for mental sanity, and it seems that there are even some trees adhereing to social distancing recommendations. Like this lone Arbutus.

Bike Parking

Bike Parking. Last night I had the pleasure of shooting with a friend from out of town and we dodged rain drops and did the best we could in this wet month of January. I was happy how this one truned out. The Parking sign was a bit of an eye sore, but I managed to weasle it into my theme here..

A life Twisted. Last weekend went for a hike and found this arbutus tree that seems to be confused about which way is up. Just twisting like a cork screw out to the salty inlet. I thought it was pretty cool..

Coming Round the Mountain. Back in the summer we visited the BC Forestry centre in Duncan, and they had an awesome, working steam engine that travelled around on a small loop. Only a bit of waiting and you can see this train lumbering through the woods at a super slow pace..

HeadSpace Spot. I spent a lot of time running through Thetis Lake Park here on Vancouver Island. I usually run with my GoPro and on this particular day I got lost and found a lovely waterfall. If I wasn't on a run for exercise, I probably would have done some headspace mediation at this spot. Would you?.

Bridge over Troubled Water (Landscape)

Bridge over Troubled Water (Landscape). Took a short hike today down the otherside of Witty's Lagoon trail, it was quite nice and I got a few water falls out of it. This particular one was captivating, and I ended up spending 20-30 minutes crawling around on the rocks and logs at the bottm. Managed to avoid a soaker as well!.

8 Maids a Milking. The Buchart Gardens really does a magical transformation of their gardens into a Christmas wonderland this time of year. So much so that the park is more packed after 5pm than it is before. For the kids, they have a scavenger hunt to find the 12 days of Christmas. I thought the "8 maids a milking" looked pretty ghostly under the tree branches. What are your thoughts?.

Token Red Tree. Ah the fall colours in BC, the ever-green province. One thing I miss from living in Ontario is the plethora of fall colours. But here in BC you get the ocean, and a single red tree with a crisp breeze (not pictured ;o) ) to indicate fall.

Ready for the Wedding. Inside of Hatley castle there are some gardens, and low and behond a place for poeple to get married. This walkway veranda was pretty awesome. Who wouldn't want to get married here?.

Hatley from the Gardens. Hately Castle is one of the coolest landmarks in Victoria. Technically it's in Colwood, but it's appeared on many different movies, my favourites being X-Men with Xavier's School for the Gifted, or Deadpool. Today we ventured into the manicured gardens off to the side of the castle and got a brilliant view. I thought it best to share..

I See You. Visited the Butterfly Gardens here in Victoria and this parrot became very friendly. So much that it was sitting on my wife's arm for a bit. I believe he flew down and landed on the bench next to us, looked right at me, and said "you better snap these pics.". Either that or he said "hold my beer". I can't decided..

The Running Trail. A few weekends ago, I took my GoPro with me on a run through the woods. As I came up a hill the sun had finally come out and was coming through the trees. I absolutely love running on this trail in Thetis Lake Regional Park..

Mangled and Beached. Another great shot I just love from shooting at Saxe Point with @pacificphoto. He has such a knack for finding those forground objects. He found this one first and i'm dying to see his shot, this was my best attempt. Super happy with how it turned out..

Fountain of Silk. The other day when I was out on the town at night, I wanted to try my hand at the Parliament building fountain. I've seen this at night many time but this is the first time I had been there. What do you think? How is my interpretation of the fountain?.
