Memories of World Cup. This is me at the Germany v France World Cup Final in the Maracana in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. What a croud and what a game! Love this stadium as well. I kind of miss Rio, at least now that it's raining here. View the larger version on Flickr
The Lonely Church
The Lonely Church. I took out my LensBaby lens the other day and decided to have some fun. Like usual with my LensBaby, I took something like 200 photos, and this was the only one that I liked. You can get some super cool effects, but I should probably restrict myself to using it when I'm super high up shooting down, give the impression of miniature worlds! On Top Of The World
On Top Of The World. This shot was taken from the top of Sugar Loaf, you can see the smaller mountain in front of Sugar Loaf, and the city below. In the center of the shot, or hte left most mainland is Copacabana beach, and if you look SUPER closely, there is a dark 1/2 circle; that's Fifa Fan Fest. Additionally, if you look closely above the cable car lines, you can see Christ the Redeemer on the highest mountain peak as well. pretty darn cool view if you ask me. Would be amazing at sunset. Up Up and Away!. Another Sugar Loaf mountain view from the bottom. What mountains just leap out of the sea, so straight up like this? Such a natural wonder. I spent far too long just looking UP at sugar loaf... View the larger version on Flickr
To the Top of Sugar Loaf
To the Top of Sugar Loaf. Sugar Loaf Mountain was more impressive than Chris the Redeemer in my opinion. And what made it cool was that it's a two stop journey to the top. The first, smaller mountain you get up to actually has amazing views as well, and from there things don't look super small, like you're on an airplane. Instead if just feels like you're really high. We went in the morning, where they say to go later on for the sunset, but that didn't work into our schedule. There was also no line in the morning, which was nice. This is a few from the first mountain, overlooking Sugar Loaf, the cable cars, and off to the left, the smaller local airport (not the international one which is further left and farther away than you can actually see). The other cool thing is that planes destined for this airport actually buzz this mountain on their approach. Very fun to watch. View the larger version on Flickr
Ipanema Surfers
Ipanema Surfers. Apparently you can surf here 24/7, the turn on a set of lights and you can surf all you want! For me, I was here during the day, and the views were just awesome. I like how all the poeple are super little in this one. it's like a little miniature Rio! View the larger version on Flickr
Model Bridge
Model Bridge. Trains are definitely interesting to shoot. What makes this train track even more interesting, is it's super small. Human ride-able, but you straddle the train and go down this 1km track. This bridge is just a fun little bridge across nothing (i.e. they could have just filled it in, but that woudn't be so fun would it. View the larger version on Flickr
